HighLevel Two-Way Email enables genuine back-and-forth email conversation with contacts through the Conversations Inbox. Configure a connected email inbox (Gmail, Outlook, or LC Email) so that when contacts reply to emails sent from HighLevel, those replies appear in the Conversations Inbox as part of the conversation thread. Team members can reply directly from HighLevel without switching to their email client. Two-way email creates a unified communication history alongside SMS and other channels.

What Two-Way Email Means in HighLevel

Standard email marketing platforms send outbound emails but do not receive replies in the platform – replies go to the sender’s inbox.

HighLevel Two-Way Email changes this – when a contact replies to an email sent from HighLevel, the reply appears in the HighLevel Conversations Inbox as the next message in the conversation thread.

From the inbox, the team member reads the reply and responds – the new reply is sent from HighLevel and appears on the contact’s email as a standard reply.

Setting Up Two-Way Email

Connect an email inbox in Settings, then Integrations – connect Gmail or Outlook via OAuth, or configure LC Email as the sending and receiving address.

Once the inbox is connected, the email address appears as a From option in the Conversations Inbox for manual sends and in Workflow Builder email actions.

Test two-way email by sending a manual email to a test contact from the Conversations Inbox, replying from the recipient email address, and confirming the reply appears in the HighLevel inbox.
