Email Templates in HighLevel

Updated: March 19, 2026  |  Author:

HighLevel Email Templates are saved email designs that can be reused across email campaigns, workflow automation sequences, and manual sends from the Conversations Inbox. Create templates in the Email Builder, save them with a descriptive name, and select them when composing any new email. Templates store the design, branding, and placeholder content – team members select the template, customize the variable content for the specific send, and send. Templates ensure brand consistency and eliminate the time spent redesigning the same email layouts repeatedly.

Creating Email Templates

Build email templates in the Email Builder – the same drag-and-drop editor used for campaign emails.

Use Custom Value merge tags for business information (business name, phone) and contact merge tags for personalization (first name, appointment date). These populate automatically at send time.

Save the template with a clear name – the name appears in the template selector when composing emails.

Using Templates in Campaigns and Workflows

When creating an email campaign, select from saved templates rather than building a new design for each campaign.

In Workflow Builder email actions, select a saved template as the email content. The workflow sends the template to each contact as they reach the email action step.

Update a template once and the change applies to all future sends that use that template – future campaigns and workflows automatically use the updated version.
