Bulk Import Custom Objects in HighLevel

HighLevel Bulk Import for Custom Objects populates Custom Object records from a CSV file – the same import pattern used for Contacts and Companies. Define the Custom Object type first in Settings. Then prepare a CSV with the object’s field data, upload it through the Custom Objects import interface, map columns to the object’s fields, and import. This is how existing external data – project records, property listings, vehicle inventory – gets moved into HighLevel Custom Objects without manual entry.

Prerequisites for Custom Object Import

The Custom Object type must be created in Settings before importing records into it.

The CSV columns must match the fields defined on the Custom Object – create the necessary fields in the object definition before preparing the import CSV.

Custom Object records can be related to Contact or Company records – if the import should establish those relationships, include a column for the contact email or company name to enable the relationship mapping during import.

Running the Import

Access the Custom Objects import from the Custom Objects section in the sub-account – find the import option in the object type’s list view.

Upload the CSV, map each column to the corresponding Custom Object field, configure duplicate handling (if the object type has a unique identifier field), and confirm.

After import, spot-check several records from the CSV to verify all fields populated correctly.

Common Use Cases

A real estate agency imports property listing records into a Property Custom Object – each property record stores address, listing price, status, and photos, linked to the buyer and seller contacts.

A home services company imports project records into a Project Custom Object – each project stores scope, materials, job date, and linked to the customer contact.

Any business with structured non-contact data that belongs in the CRM can use Custom Object imports to migrate that data from spreadsheets or legacy systems.
